ASUS Chromebook 14 CX1400CKA: A Lightweight Laptop for Everyday Use
I recently found myself in need of a laptop, with mine being repaired at the time, so I saw the ASUS Chromebook 14 CX1400CKA caught my eye. The price was attractive and the reviews seemed promising. After putting it through its paces, I’m happy to report that it’s been a reliable and comfortable companion.
One of the standout features is the screen – it’s clear and crisp, making it perfect for everyday use. The layout is simple yet pleasant, and the start-up speed is quick and seamless. I was also pleased with the laptop’s weight, which makes it easy to carry around without feeling too cumbersome in a bag or case.
However, there are some quirks that may be frustrating for some users. For example, the keyboard doesn’t have backlighting, which would have been a nice feature to include at this price point. Additionally, I found myself getting confused about capitalization – it seemed like the laptop wouldn’t recognize typed capitals unless I actually pressed the shift key repeatedly, which was annoying.
The one measurement-related issue that has me scratching my head is the screen size. According to ASUS, the screen measures 17 inches diagonally, but in reality, it’s closer to 16.4 inches. I’ve tried measuring it myself and had a friend do it for me, and we all agreed on the same number. It’s not a huge discrepancy, but it’s enough that I wish they’d gotten it right.
Despite these minor frustrations, I’m happy with my purchase and find the ASUS Chromebook 14 CX1400CKA to be an excellent spare laptop that gets the job done. The battery life is respectable, and the overall performance is smooth and responsive. If you’re in the market for a reliable and affordable laptop for everyday use, this might be worth considering.
